Panda Commemoratives Return to San Francisco in 2018 !

A San Francisco Panda Commemorative was first issued in 1987, however no further Pandas were
issued until now! The 1987 Panda only included the 1 ounce version with an actual mintage reported of 3,000
pieces. It was completely sold out at the show with commemoratives being sold dealer-to-dealer at a profit.

In 1988, a 1oz gold came out with a Dragon design. No Pandas were minted.

Approximately 30 years later a project began to bring another Panda Commemorative to San Francisco.
Designers at the Shanghai mint completed designs in late 2017. Formal announcement at the CoinExpo
Santa Clara was done at the April 2018 show and pre-orders began at that time. The Shanghai mint completed
dies and struck the Pandas in May-June 2018. The entire mintage of the 2018 issue is only 937 pieces!

Panda Commemorative Availability

With a mintage of only 6 pieces, the 12 ounce gold and the 60g gold piefort have SOLD OUT quickly.
All of the 12oz gold and 60g gold pieforts are sold.
Another popular one has been the 60g silver piefort which will only be available at the show due to many orders.
